Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) is located in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. This community college was established back in 1926 and it currently serves around 2,400 students. WNCC has become an important part of the community over the years and it also has campuses in Sidney and Alliance. This school offers its students many exciting academic opportunities. There are many associate degree, diploma, and certificate opportunities to consider. The WNCC nursing program has become one of the most sought-after programs in the school. Students have two basic paths to choose with this nursing program. The practical nursing path will lead students into careers as licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and the associate degree nursing path will lead students toward becoming registered nurses (RN's). There is also an LPN to RN advanced placement opportunity for existing LPNs. The WNCC nursing program is fully approved by the Nebraska State Board of Nursing. Clinical experiences occur during the school year at partnered healthcare facilities.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is a public institution and part of the University of Nebraska, which includes six campuses across the state. It was founded in 1880 as a private medical college and joined the University of Nebraska system in 1902. Over the years, the university has established several colleges, including a dental college, pharmacy college, nursing college, medical college, and a hospital. In 2016, UNMC was recognized by US News & World Report as the fifth best medical school in the nation. In 2008, UNMC opened the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education. This $52.7 million center includes advanced simulation rooms, class laboratories, and technologically-equipped classrooms. 

There are eight CCNE-accredited nursing programs available at the UNMC College of Nursing. Pre-licensure programs include a traditional BSN program, along with accelerated BSN, LPN to BSN, and RN to BSN programs. The graduate-level programs include MSN, DNP, PhD, and BSN to PhD options. With the traditional BSN program, students can complete two years of prerequisite courses from an accredited university and then apply to the BSN program to earn their BSN in two years. The college has partnerships with over 100 healthcare institutions in the state, giving students hands-on clinical experience. Training is also provided through the education center that was opened in 2008.

Northeast Community College (NECC) is located in Norfolk, Nebraska. NECC was established back in 1973. This public community college actually has four campuses in the area for students to choose from; this is due to the merger between the Northeastern Nebraska College and the Northeast Nebraska Technical College. The Nebraska Methodist College of Nursing & Allied Health is a private institution in Omaha, Nebraska, and part of the Methodist Health System. The college was founded in 1891 and offers degrees in nursing and allied health professions. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It is one of the top nursing schools in the region, thanks to its state-of-the-art labs and learning centers. These centers include the 75,000 square foot Clark Center and the Riley-Leinart Center. The college received its first nursing accreditation in 1956. The campus was renovated in 2005 and named the Josie Harper Campus. Metropolitan Community College Area (MCC or Metro) is located in Omaha, Nebraska. This public community college used to be known as Metropolitan Technical Community College. It has multiple locations throughout the Omaha area and is known as the largest post-secondary institution in Nebraska. MCC is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Creighton University is a private institution in Omaha, Nebraska. It was founded in 1878 by the Society of Jesus. The university is one of the 28 institutions that belong to the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The campus is outside the downtown area of Omaha and sits on 140 acres of land.
